Kathy Taft - NC Senate District 5 (Greene, Pitt and Wayne counties)
Lillian’s List candidate Kathy Taft was defeated on June 24th by Don Davis in the run-off election for Senate District 5. Kathy placed second in the six-way Democratic Primary on May 6th for the seat held by retiring Senator John Kerr. Kathy was the only woman running for this seat.
Don Davis is the current mayor of Snow Hill, which is located in Greene County. Mr. Davis will face Republican House Member Louis Pate from Wayne County in November.
We thank Kathy for running a great campaign and giving the voters of Wayne, Greene, and Pitt counties an excellent choice for a new Senator. We hope to see her name on another ballot in the future.
Thank you to all the Lillian’s List members who supported her in the first and second primary.
