Sign our thank-you card to legislators who protect women

It is with great sadness that we inform you that seven courageous Democratic women legislators have decided not to seek re-election in 2012.
Senator Linda Garrou of Winston-Salem and Representatives Alice Bordsen of Mebane, Maggie Jeffus of Greensboro, Patsy Keever of Asheville, Diane Parfitt of Fayetteville, Edith Warren of Farmville, and Jennifer Weiss of Cary have made immeasurable contributions to the NC General Assembly. They have fought time and time again to protect women, and they remain committed to moving North Carolina forward as they finish out their terms in office this year. Please take a moment to thank them for their service.
We will honor the legislators and thank them personally for their service at our 2012 Campaign Kickoff luncheon on Wednesday, March 21 in Raleigh.
While we are saddened that these incredible legislators will only be with us in the General Assembly for one more year, their strong example makes us even more dedicated to recruiting and training the next generation of pro-choice Democratic women legislators. While no one can fill these legislators' shoes, we’re hard at work recruiting and training pro-choice Democratic women candidates for 2012.
